Horwath Bastow Charleton is pleased to announce its support for the inaugural NHI Care Awards in association with Homecare Medical Supplies, Celebrating Excellence in Care.

Horwath Bastow Charleton has worked closely with NHI since its launch in January 2008 and  is delighted to sponsor the NHI Nursing Home Activities Co-Ordinator Award. This award is open to all staff fulfilling the role of activity co-ordinators employed in an NHI registered nursing home. The award is established to celebrate the work that activity co-ordinators do, in facilitating and coordinating psycho-social care to nursing home residents and others who are significant to them.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate how their work as an activity co-ordinator (over and above what would normally be expected of the role) contributes to care excellence and how the work has a demonstrable benefit in contributing to a culture of person-centredness in the nursing home.  Application details are available on the NHI Care Awards website. http://www.nhicareawards.ie/html3c.html

Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI) is introducing this standards-orientated annual awards system to recognise achievement and excellence in the Irish nursing home sector. The awards will be a catalyst for active positive change by highlighting, recognising and meriting excellence and leadership in nursing home care. The awards will be the definitive celebration of excellence across the nursing home sector. The purpose of the event will be to promote best practice within the sector and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence and dedication within their field of work.
