Ger Blake Corporate Finance Partner

Ger Blake is a Bachelor of Business Studies graduate from the University of Limerick and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He has been working in Corporate Finance for almost ten years, he became a partner in the firm in April 2007 after three very successful years as the Corporate Finance Director.

Ger has a broad range of commercial experience across a variety of sectors.  He frequently undertakes assignments in tourism consulting, the childcare sector, property related transactions, tax based fundraising, private equity fundraising and due diligence reviews.

Ger specialises in property and tax based financing transactions, having previously carried out assignments for a number of hotel and crèche operators across the country. One of Ger’s recent high-profile deals was the €26 million tax-based fundraising for the redevelopment of the Killeshin Hotel in Portlaoise; this was a tax-based property deal involving no operational or development risk for investors. Ger has also taken his Corporate Finance team into the overseas property markets, raising €8.4million private equity for Chieftain Construction’s development of the Lexington Park Condominium site in Chicago. As a key member of the corporate finance and acquisition fundraising specialists team Ger also helped raise €28 million for the purchase of the Gore Hotel in Kensington, London – €21.5 million of which was bank funding, with the balance raised as private equity from Limerick-based investors.

Ger is also an advisor to a leading national childcare operator and has worked with them in the development of a number of childcare facilities in the greater Dublin area.  He also worked with the developer of the new multi-storey car park at the redeveloped Athlone Shopping Centre.

He has worked on various other tax based investments schemes involving nursing homes, sheltered housing units, student accommodation and urban renewal projects. Ger and the Corporate Finance team are also focusing increasingly on overseas syndicated property investments and private equity fundraising as areas with great scope for investment opportunities.

Ger aims to work closely with the client from project inception to turnkey delivery and beyond thereby enabling him to provide the best advice at each critical phase of the project.
