He completed his audit training in PricewaterhouseCoopers and joined the Corporate Finance Department of Horwath Bastow Charleton in 2005 having gained valuable experience in corporate recovery and insolvency. Since joining the firm, he has further added to his broad range of experiences across a variety of industries and client types, and is a trusted advisor to some of Horwath’s largest clients.

Eoin is currently a Director in the National Insolvency Unit, Horwath’s dedicated insolvency centre-of-excellence in Dublin. He manages a team of senior insolvency professionals providing high-level advice on receiverships, liquidations (members’, creditors’ and court liquidations) and IBRs to financial institutions and insolvency stake holders.

He has regularly been appointed liquidator to a wide variety of companies including those previously engaged in construction, professional services etc. Eoin has also been appointed Receiver (or Receiver & Manager) by a number of financial institutions. The appointments have included both trading and non-trading assets.

Eoin has actively managed some of Horwath’s largest cases including the largest liquidation in the State during 2008. Eoin also has significant experience of acting for financial institutions in respect of due diligence assignments, financial reviews and work-out plans.

Eoin’s extensive corporate finance experience includes disposals & acquisitions, buy-outs and buy-ins. He has handled valuation, due diligence and negotiation on a large number of transactions - both on the buy- and sell-side. Previous transactions saw him involved in the sale of a multi-location professional services entity to a UK-based plc and, acting on behalf of a large builders’ provider group, on the acquisition of a company for in excess of €10m.

He has also gained a great deal of experience in tax-based financing – in particular in the nursing home/retirement sector. Eoin has led projects involving the development of nursing homes and retirement villages throughout Ireland. He has worked extensively with Brian McEnery, Corporate Finance Partner and national advisor to Nursing Homes Ireland, to develop the firm’s expertise and reputation in this area, which has led to the firm being seen as one of the foremost advisors in the area of healthcare.

He has also completed assignments in company valuation, property investment structures, forensic investigation and litigation support. As part of the dedicated department of corporate finance advisors at Horwath, Eoin can offer clients the attention and expertise needed to meet their goals.
